Two weeks ago, we talked about Monitoring SharePoint. Valued Member, Daniel Westerdale took it to the next step and would also like to share code with the group! Follow Daniel on Twitter: @westerdaled (https://twitter.com/#!/westerdaled) and stay tune to his blog as he will talk about this code in more details.
"BTW we talked about ULSlogging last week . I built a class that I have been using all week to write to the ULSVIewer and be easily filtered ...Product Contains SharePointShopTalk" - Daniel
Here is the an example:
• Add this code to c# library project
• Sign the assembly
• Add the project reference to whatever SharePoint feature you are coding.
• Log your messages or errors using the desired method in the ULSLogger
• Add the project DLL to the desired SharePoint feature -> package designer ->advanced so the DeploymentTarget should be the GlobalAssemblyCache
• Build solution
• Package up your wsp and deploy on to server – I used PowerShell commands.
• Go to the ULSViewer and have lots fun!

Last week, Kim Frehe was instrumental in answering a question about workflow, and she happliy shared screenshots! Follow Kim on twitter: @KimFrehe (https://twitter.com/#!/KimFrehe)
"As promised, here are a few print screens…one of the field that I created to capture the consolidated comments. This ensures that every time the workflow runs on a document, that history stays with the document (version history must be turned on)" - Kim

During last week's SharePoint ShopTalk, the Panelist answered questions from near and far about Idera's Powershell Plus, Installation of February's CU, the initial stages of Document Management and the panelist pondered over tough programming questions sent in from a new member of SharePoint ShopTalk.
One of my favorite moments, was when the Panelists talked about how they got involved with the SharePoint Community.

SharePoint ShopTalk's Guest Panelist, Jeremy Thake was a great hit during last week's session!
He battled the flu to deliver answers to questions about SharePoint Governance, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) , AvePoint product and services, and www.NothingButSharePoint.com.
He answered questions sent in by members like NicoleB and Westerdaled. He also didn't shy away from any questions that were given to him live over the phone. We hope to have Jeremy back some time in the near future!
For those of you who missed this session, you may view the recording by clicking the link below.
