Panelist, Paul Olenick will Co-Present Solving SharePoint Issues with Nicholas Bisciotti
FAST isn’t always fast, and architectural challenges abound. Olenick takes a deep dive into troubleshooting FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint (FS4SP). The session is designed to demystify the platform by breaking it down into its component parts. With that backdrop, Olenick discusses methodologies for troubleshooting and diagnosing issues as well as what tools are available to support this process. Bisciotti focuses on designing intranets, collaboration portals, and business process solutions. He explains how to leverage SharePoint’s native search features in creative ways.

This was a very informative SharePoint ShopTalk, and not only that...one of my favorite things happened! Laura Rogers gave an impromptu demo! She answered the question, "How can I create a form so that only certain people can fill in certain fields?", by referring to two of her latest blog entries:
List Form Fields–Show/Hide For Certain People: Part 1 & List Form Fields–Show/Hide For Certain People: Part 2
Natalya Voskresenskaya also answered the common question, If I have FAST Search, do I still need to run SharePoint Search since it is what People Search is using. Our members also contributed to SharePoint ShopTalk, Russell and Cindi about Document Libraries and InfoPath Forms.

During last week's SharePoint ShopTalk, the Panelist answered questions from near and far about Idera's Powershell Plus, Installation of February's CU, the initial stages of Document Management and the panelist pondered over tough programming questions sent in from a new member of SharePoint ShopTalk.
One of my favorite moments, was when the Panelists talked about how they got involved with the SharePoint Community.

We are coming off the heels of very fun and insightful conversation during yesterday's SharePoint ShopTalk. We had our very first Member volunteer to share her SharePoint experience, advice etc. with the group.
Joelle Farley, Microsoft SharePoint User Development Analyst shared details on how she creates successes when training and creating user adoption as well as valuable tidbits on learning SharePoint OOTB along with a brief overview of her role woking on her company's branding project.
*I want to take the timeout to thank Joelle once again, I hope she is a trendsetter, and will encourage other members to volunteer their experiences*
We also utilzed James Love's (@JimmyWim) article: SharePoint Development: What to Learn? as a talking point, as Paul Olenick and Chris Poteet extended advice to Developer's beginning their exploration into SharePoint. Paul also offered, Paul Galvin's article as another great starting point for Developers learning SharePoint: Developers: How do I Learn SharePoint?
